How to Build Confidence by Embracing All Parts of Yourself
We all have that little voice that tells us we’re not good enough. It may say we’re too shy, loud, dull, or weird. We try to silence it by conforming to what we think others expect of us, but the truth is, we’ll never be able to please everyone.
That’s where building self-confidence comes in. When we’re confident in ourselves and embrace all parts of ourselves, we radiate a specific energy that draws people to us. We don’t have to pretend to be someone we’re not or mould ourselves to fit in. Instead, we can be authentically ourselves, flaws and all.
But building self-confidence can be challenging. It takes practice and patience. One way to start is by focusing on our strengths and what makes us unique. We may be great at problem-solving or have a wicked sense of humour. We may be passionate about a particular hobby or have a talent for cooking. By acknowledging these things, we can see our worth and value.
Another important aspect of building self-confidence is learning to accept our flaws and vulnerabilities. Nobody’s perfect, and that’s okay. We all have things we’re working on, which makes us human. Instead of beating ourselves up over our shortcomings, we can learn to embrace them as part of our journey.
Ultimately, building self-confidence is a lifelong process, but one that’s worth the effort. When we’re confident in ourselves, we can passionately pursue our passions and dreams and better handle life’s challenges.
What Does Confidence Look Like?
During episode 48, Jess recommended creating a vision board to help you work on embracing your true self and building that inner confidence.
Creating a vision board can be a powerful tool for building self-confidence and manifesting your goals. A vision board visually represents your goals and aspirations, created by collecting images, words, and phrases that resonate with your desired outcomes.
Here are some steps you can follow to create a vision board that helps you embrace what confidence looks like to you:
Start with a Clear Intention
Before you begin creating your vision board, take some time to reflect on what you want to achieve. What does confidence look like to you? What kind of person do you want to be? What activities and experiences do you want to have? Write down your answers to these questions and use them as a starting point for your vision board.
Collect Images and Words that Inspire You
Look for images, words, and phrases representing the kind of person you want to be and what you want to do. You can find these in magazines, online, or even by using your own photos. Choose images that make you feel confident and inspired.
Arrange Your Images and Words on a Board
Once you have collected your images and words, arrange them on a board meaningfully. You can use a poster board, a cork board, or even a digital platform like Canva or Pinterest. Make sure that the images and words are placed in a way that feels visually pleasing to you.
Focus on the Details
As you create your vision board, pay attention to the details. What kind of clothing and accessories do you want to wear? What kind of activities do you want to engage in? What kind of people do you want to surround yourself with? Include specific details that help you visualise your desired outcomes.
Display Your Vision Board Where You Can See It
Once your vision board is complete, display it where you will see it often. This could be in your bedroom, office, or any other space where you spend a lot of time. The more you see your vision board, the more it will reinforce your goals and help you stay motivated.
Creating a vision board is a simple but powerful way to build confidence and manifest your goals. By focusing on the kind of person you want to be and the experiences you want to have, you can create a visual reminder of your desired outcomes and stay inspired to take action towards achieving them.
