Growth, Acceptance and Self-Healing E13

Written by #WWR
In episode 13 of Women Who Rebrand, Chioma and Sareta have chosen to mark the occasion by speaking to Johanna Rossi, a Holistic mentor and rebel with a big heart.
Johanna, also known as The Soul Gardener, believes that to become our most authentic selves, we must “root and nurture ourselves back to our truth”. As a “dark worker”, she helps women identify and meet their needs through one-on-one sessions, virtual meetings, and Women’s Circles. She emphasises that it is impossible to expect anyone to understand and meet our needs if we do not know them.
Rather than striving to reach a particular goal and forcing yourself to accomplish it, can you act based on your feelings? Consider inquiring if events are occurring to you or just happening nearby in your energy field. Instead of being driven to act, why not let yourself be inspired to act?
(Warning: This episode contains major spoilers for Love is Blind Season 2 from 2:40 to 16:12. Proceed with caution!)

For over 14 years, Johanna has been on a journey of self-recovery. During this time, she has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge that informs the work she does today.
Besides being a wife and mother to two wonderful children and a vizsla, Johanna has developed her unique skills. Initially, she could not trust herself or understand her worth, living up to other people’s expectations and feeling weighed down by responsibility. This led to her feeling unfulfilled and lacking enthusiasm for life, and she often ended up burning herself out by rushing towards her goals.
She eventually took responsibility and began the process of self-acknowledgement, acceptance, awareness, compassion and care. Johanna explained that this was a difficult and lonely journey has was challenging. Still, it also taught her that an unbalanced body makes unbalanced decisions and that self-care is necessary to reclaim our ease and truth.
Learning to self-heal has had an extremely positive impact on her life.
A Guide to Self-Healing and Acceptance
The process of self-healing after trauma can vary greatly depending on the individual and the severity of the trauma experienced. It is important to remember that everyone’s healing journey is different and will take time. Some steps that can be taken to help with the healing process include:
1. Acknowledging the trauma: Acknowledging and accepting the trauma experienced is a vital first step in the healing process. Recognising that the trauma has happened and has significantly impacted your life is essential.
2. Seeking Support: It is important to seek support from family, friends, or a professional therapist. This can provide a safe space to express your feelings and healthily work through them.
3. Self-Care: Taking care of your physical, mental, and emotional health is vital for healing after trauma. This includes eating a balanced diet, getting enough sleep, exercising, and engaging in activities that bring joy or relaxation.
4. Processing the Trauma: Processing the trauma is a key part of the healing process. This could involve writing down feelings, talking with a therapist, or engaging in creative activities such as art or music.
5. Developing Healthy Coping Strategies: It is essential to develop healthy coping strategies to deal with difficult emotions and memories. This could include mindfulness, journaling, or engaging in activities that bring comfort.
6. Moving Forward: As you heal, focusing on the future and taking steps to move forward with your life is important. This could include setting goals, engaging in joyful activities, and finding meaning in life.
Overall, self-healing after trauma is a challenging but necessary journey. It is essential to be patient and kind to yourself throughout the process. Everyone heals in their own way and time.
